Over Four Tonnes Of Kimberlite Recovered On Blue Ice, Victoria Island

VANCOUVER, September 17, 2003 -- Diamonds North Resources Ltd. (DDN-TSX Venture) and Teck Cominco Limited have completed 1833m of drilling on the Blue Ice property on Victoria Island in Nunavut and NWT. A total of twenty holes were drilled into eleven targets along the Galaxy Structure. Nineteen of the holes intersected kimberlite, of which three represent new discoveries, and one hole failed to reach bedrock.

In addition, a fourth new kimberlite body, Orion, was discovered during prospecting along the southeast part of the Galaxy Structure. Orion is believed to be a dyke that forms part of the structure.

Approximately 4200 kilograms of kimberlite have been collected from 11 kimberlite bodies through drilling and/or trenching in 2003 on the Blue Ice property. A total of 2377 kilograms has been submitted to Lakefield Research for caustic fusion and microdiamond recovery. The remaining 1823 kilograms has been retained for future processing if warranted. The table below summarizes the weights collected from each kimberlite through drilling and/or trenching.

Processing the Blue Ice kimberlite samples will take several months and diamond results are expected to be received starting in September 2003 through to the first quarter of 2004. Complete results for each specific kimberlite body will be released as they are received.

The Blue Ice program also included 11,360 line kilometers of airborne geophysics to provide complete coverage over the property. Processing of the data is underway.

Diamonds North Resources Ltd. is a diamond exploration company with ten projects covering over 2 million acres of land in Canada's Nunavut and Northwest Territories.
