Diamonds North Receives Diamond Results for Qavvik-5 & Qavvik-6 - Plans For Larger Samples Underway

  News Release: 08-09

VANCOUVER, March 10th, 2008 - Diamonds North Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: DDN) announces favourable diamond counts from the Qavvik-5 and Qavvik-6 kimberlites located on the Company's 100% owned Amaruk property in the Pelly Bay Diamond District of Nunavut. A total of 130 diamonds have been recovered from 103.4 kilograms of Qavvik-5 and 118 diamonds were recovered from a 107.7 kilogram sample of Qavvik-6. The Qavvik-5 and 6 kimberlites appear to form a complex with a geophysical expression of approximately 5 hectares in size. In addition, there are several adjacent untested targets that may increase the potential size.

Samples were collected using a reverse circulation/percussion drill. As a result of the above diamond counts from both Qavvik-5 and 6 kimberlites, plans for collecting larger samples with a core drill are underway. These plans also include drilling on the Qavvik-4 kimberlite (see News Release NR08-02, January 14th, 2008) which is only 500 metres from the Qavvik-5 and 6 kimberlites. Several new high priority targets exist within one kilometre of Qavvik-6 that will also be tested in 2008.

To date, only diamonds on or above the 0.3mm screen have been described. The Company has requested full descriptions of all recovered diamonds. Preliminary review shows a high proportion of white clear octahedral diamonds. The largest diamond recovered in Qavvik-6 is a 1.2mm x 0.88mm x 0.30mm fragment.

The Company views these results as very significant. The diamond counts demand follow-up drilling with a core drill to further evaluate the economic potential of these kimberlites. The presence of a diamond fragment as large as 1.2mm in one direction suggests that larger diamonds are being broken.

Core drilling is also currently being planned for the Tuktu-1 kimberlite (where 550 diamonds were recovered from a 81.75 kilogram sample, see News Release NR08-01, January 8th, 2008), which is located 15 kilometres west of the Qavvik cluster. The diamond results for 8 additional Tuktu kimberlites are expected to be released shortly.

In addition, a 59.4 kilogram sample from the Beluga-2 kimberlite yielded three diamonds with one stone each on the 0.106mm, 0.150mm and 0.600mm screens.

Diamonds North has discovered 22 kimberlites to date on the Amaruk property. Diamond results have been reported for 14 of the kimberlites with more than 85% being diamondiferous and 50% exhibiting encouraging diamond counts that require follow-up exploration. With 500 geophysical targets to be tested on a property with an abundance of compelling diamond indicator minerals, Amaruk is one of Canada's most prospective diamond projects.

The drill cuttings were logged in secure facilities at the Amaruk field camp by geoscientists. Samples were securely sealed in solid containers and shipped to Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) in Saskatoon for processing. The results presented in this news release were obtained by SRC using their standard caustic fusion diamond recovery method. SRC is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada to the ISO/IEC Guide 25 standard for specific registered tests. As part of an ongoing Quality Control & Quality Assurance program, Diamonds North will conduct reviews and audits of results.

Bruce Kienlen (P.Geol) and Graham Gill (P. Geo) are Diamonds North's qualified persons reviewing these projects. They are responsible for the design and conduct of the exploration programs and the verification and quality assurance of analytical results.

Diamonds North Resources is focused on discovering Canada's next diamond mine. The Company is rapidly evolving and committed to building long-term value through ongoing diamond discoveries.
